Perrysburg, Ohio – Alan Hetrick has tragically passed away following complications from injuries sustained in a pedestrian versus motor vehicle accident.
Alan, who had been in a permanent comatose state for several years, recently developed pneumonia, which progressed into septic shock, leading to his passing.
After enduring multiple hospitalizations and receiving long-term care, his family made the difficult decision to let him go peacefully and with dignity.
Alan’s niece, Merissa, shared on social media, “Alan has always been a fighter, but we believe he is finally ready to be united with his loved ones in heaven who have been patiently waiting for him with open arms.”
Corrina Dankert, Alan’s sister, stayed by his side throughout his final moments, as the family faced financial and emotional challenges during this heartbreaking time.
A GoFundMe has been organized by Corrina Dankert to help with Alan’s medical expenses and cremation costs, and to support her during this difficult transition.
Facebook user Barbara Hoffmann wrote, "Please help for a final trip home," highlighting the community’s effort to support the family.
