Andrew Westfall-Shrewsbury of White Sulphur Springs, WV, Passes Away at 32 After Long Illness

White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia – Andrew Westfall-Shrewsbury, a beloved umpire, coach, and community member, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was 32 years old. Andrew had been battling an extended illness before his passing.

Born on September 9, 1992, in Beckley, West Virginia, Andrew was the son of Vera Westfall-Shrewsbury and the late Carry Leonard Shrewsbury. Known for his dedication to local sports, he served as a judge for baseball, football, and softball games. He was also a coach for the White Sulphur Springs Falcons, leaving a lasting impact on the community through his passion for the games and his mentorship of young athletes.

His passing has deeply affected many in the community. Danielle M. Jones shared on Facebook, “A friend from my class passed away, it is not the same without him. Please keep his family and everyone affected by his passing in your prayers.” Marilyn Punky Morris added, “Father comfort his family and friends,” and Donna Osborne expressed, “Prayers for his family and friends.”

Andrew is survived by his mother, Vera Westfall-Shrewsbury, brother Daniel Shrewsbury, and sisters Alana Westfall-Shrewsbury and Melissa Justice. He also leaves behind nephews Donald Westfall and Eli Withrow, and cousins Taylor Withrow and Klaressa Hanway. He was predeceased by his father, Carry Leonard Shrewsbury.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor John Groves will officiate the service, with a visitation hour preceding the service. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Morgan Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.

Andrew Westfall-Shrewsbury will be remembered for his vibrant spirit, dedication to his community, and his love for sports. His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched.
