Angela Kena Ayers of Lithonia Passes Away at 34, Family and Community Mourn

Lithonia, GA – Angela Kena Ayers, affectionately known as Angie, tragically passed away on the morning of Sunday, September 15th, after a long battle with health complications. She was 34 years old.

Her family shared the heartbreaking news on Facebook, expressing their grief and inviting friends and loved ones to commemorate her life, legacy, and homecoming. Angie had been in and out of the hospital for the past year, battling severe health issues that affected her kidneys and liver.

A GoFundMe fundraiser has been organized by Alicia Poindexter to support Angela’s family during this difficult time. The fundraiser details the challenges Angela faced in her final months, including severe exhaustion, swelling, and organ failure. Despite her struggles, she fought bravely and showed incredible spirit, even waking up smiling and snapping her fingers to music in the midst of her battle.

The community has rallied around her family, with many expressing their condolences and love on social media. Melody Danielle shared her shock and sorrow, posting, "Omg nooooooo." Tara Drayton offered her condolences, writing, "So sorry for your loss!" Similarly, Bee Ashleigh echoed, "Omg nooooo!"

Many others, including Orestes Davis and Shamonica Wiggins Mayes, have also expressed their grief and support. Shy Fae Taylor shared a touching tribute: "My deepest condolences to the family. She was such a beautiful soul. My heart is broken. I love you always, my Scorpio sister."

The GoFundMe campaign has raised $1,191 of its $15,000 goal, with 19 donations so far. The top donation of $500 was made by The Vessel, showing the strong support from the community. Angela’s family and friends continue to hold on to the cherished memories they have of her and appreciate all the love and support they have received.

Angela Kena Ayers will be remembered for her strength, positivity, and the love she shared with those around her.
