Anna Pelfrey, Beloved Community Member and Skilled Goldsmith, Passes Away at 91 in Dayton, Tennessee

Dayton, Tennessee – Anna "Cil" Pelfrey, a cherished member of the Dayton community, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024, at the age of 91.

She died at Spring City Care and Rehabilitation Center, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and community involvement.

Born on September 9, 1933, in Hanau, Germany, Anna was the daughter of the late Karl and Anna Berglehner.

She initially worked as a goldsmith in her native country before relocating to Dayton in 1966, where she served as a bank teller for many years.

She was also a dedicated member of the New Union Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star 360.

Anna was known for her impressive skills in skeet and trap shooting, earning respect and admiration from those who knew her.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Pelfrey, and her son, David Pelfrey.

Her passing has prompted an outpouring of love and memories from the community.

Brenda Yearwood Wilson shared on Facebook, “A very sweet lady, her son David worked for me at Red Food… precious family.”

Missy Wilson Purser, another close acquaintance, commented, “Prayers for her family. We used to work together as bank tellers at First National Bank.”

Anna’s family extends their gratitude to her caregivers and friends for their support.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Vanderwall Funeral Home.

Anna will be laid to rest beside her husband in Pierce Cemetery, Evensville.

She is survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will carry on her memory and celebrate her remarkable life.
