Austin Doane, 40, and Holly Hawkins, 31, Killed in Suspected DUI Crash in Henry County, Kentucky

Henry County, Kentucky – A tragic car accident has claimed the lives of two individuals, Austin Doane, aged 40, from Smithfield, and Holly Hawkins, aged 31, from New Castle, in a suspected DUI crash on October 5, 2024.

The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. on La Grange Road, where Kentucky State Police responded to a two-vehicle collision.

According to initial investigations, Austin Doane was riding a motorcycle in an easterly direction when a truck crossed the center line and struck his vehicle.

Doane was pronounced dead at the scene by the Henry County Coroner.

His passenger, Holly Hawkins, was critically injured and later succumbed to her injuries at the University of Louisville Hospital.

The driver of the truck, identified as 21-year-old Trustin Hasenauer from Cheyenne, Wyoming, was arrested on charges including homicide, driving under the influence, and reckless driving.

He is currently being held at the Oldham County Detention Centre on a $500,000 bond.

Tributes poured in on social media, with Faith Osborne writing, “Austin Doane… you’ll never, ever be forgotten,” while others expressed anger and frustration over the loss of life due to reckless behavior.

The community mourns the loss of two beloved individuals taken too soon in this devastating accident.
