Otis Dean Brooks, a respected resident of Andalusia, passed away on September 23, 2024, at his home. He was 73 years old. Brooks, known for his exceptional skills as a self-taught master mechanic and owner of Brooks Automotive and Garage, will be remembered for his dedication to his craft and his contributions to the local community.
Brooks is survived by his daughters, Shelina Munoz of Georgia and Casey Ziglar of Andalusia, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two wives. Friends and family have expressed their sorrow, with one commenter, Krystal Hilliard, stating, “Dean was a good friend to us; he will be missed greatly.”
Another friend, Lester Smith, reflected on their shared memories, saying, “Good old racing friend, he be missed.” The family has chosen cremation, with arrangements managed by Keahey Funeral Home. Brooks leaves a lasting legacy in both his profession and the hearts of those who knew him.
