Beloved St. Peter Resident Charles Dean Brauer Passes Away at 86 Surrounded by Family

Charles Dean Brauer, age 86, of St. Peter, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at his home, surrounded by his loved ones. Brauer’s passing marks the loss of a cherished member of the community who dedicated his life to family, service, and local leadership.

Born on January 11, 1938, Brauer was a lifelong resident of St. Peter. He served in the Army and worked for over 30 years with the Illinois Department of Transportation. He was also an active farmer and served as the Lone Grove Township Supervisor for many years. His commitment to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church was unwavering, as he was a lifelong member.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on Tuesday, September 24, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Pagel Funeral Home.

Tributes from the community reflect the deep impact Brauer had on those around him. “One of the greatest humans I will ever know,” remarked Shannon Brauer, highlighting his legacy of kindness and strength.
