Londonderry, Northern Ireland – Betty Brace, a beloved member of the Londonderry and District Floral Art Society, has passed away peacefully on September 30th, 2024, at Altnagelvin Hospital.
Surrounded by her loving family, Betty leaves behind a legacy of warmth, fun, and kindness that deeply touched those around her.
A service of thanksgiving will be held in her honor at Leckpatrick Presbyterian Church on Saturday, October 5th, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., followed by a private cremation at Antrim and Newtownabbey Crematorium.
Betty, the much-loved wife of David, was a devoted mother to Gillian and a cherished grandmother to James and Oliver.
Her loss has deeply affected her family, friends, and the community at large, who remember her as a big personality who brought joy to every gathering.
Jean Bruce expressed her grief, stating, “Betty was at the heart of our club.
She provided wise counsel, great fun and never-ending enthusiasm.”
Another friend, Kathy Bond, noted, “A kind and good-hearted lady who always made me feel welcome at Flower Club.”
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Marie Curie or Leckpatrick Presbyterian Church, c/o Ruth Hay, Funeral Director.
Betty’s vibrant spirit and caring nature will be missed by all who knew her.
