Brian Gough, Pontypridd Parkrun Legend, Passes Away at 83 Leaving a Legacy of Dedication

Pontypridd, Wales – The Pontypridd community is mourning the loss of Brian Gough, a beloved figure in the local running community, who passed away at the age of 83.

Brian was instrumental in bringing parkrun to Pontypridd, where he volunteered an impressive 194 times.

His contributions were not just limited to logistics; his warmth, humor, and dedication touched the lives of many participants.

Affectionately known for his involvement with the "grumpy old men" at the main park gates, Brian’s friendly nature made him a cherished member of the parkrun family.

Tributes have flooded in across social media, with Sophie Gough sharing a heartfelt memory of Brian at her first parkrun, saying, "He was over the moon that day, remember it as if it was yesterday."

Many others expressed their condolences, including Steve Cale, who commented, "RIP Brian, a lovely chap always had a smile on his face."
