Chelsie Sonneborn, Dedicated EMT and Firefighter, Dies in Franklin, Illinois Car Accident at Age 32

Franklin, Illinois – Chelsie Sonneborn, a dedicated Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and firefighter, tragically passed away on October 3, 2024, following a car accident.

She was 32 years old.

Chelsie was a well-respected member of the America Ambulance team, where she had served as an EMT for seven years.

Her passion for helping others was evident throughout her career, and she was working towards becoming a paramedic to further her skills in emergency care.

In addition to her work as an EMT, Chelsie also served with the Murrayville Fire Department for two years, gaining invaluable experience in fire and rescue operations.

Her passing has left a deep void in the Franklin community and among her colleagues in emergency services.

West Central Joint Dispatch ETSB 911 expressed their sadness on Facebook, stating, "It is with deep sadness that we share the loss of a valued member of our community, Chelsie Sonneborn.

Her dedication to helping others, both in life and through her work, touched so many lives."

Chelsie is survived by her partner Jon Matthew Thatcher, two brothers, and a loving extended family.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville, with burial following at Oakwood Cemetery in Greenfield.

She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the entire Franklin community.
