Community Mourns the Loss of Beloved Hayle Dinner Lady Denise Bryant, Who Passed Away at 68

Denise Bryant, nee Couch, a cherished figure in the Hayle community and former dinner lady at Penpol School, has passed away peacefully at the age of 68 after a short illness. Her son, Colin Bryant, confirmed her passing on September 23, 2024, stating that she was a wonderful mum and a friend to many.

Tributes from friends and former students have poured in, reflecting the impact Denise had on those around her. Adam Martin reminisced, “Best dinner lady ever. Always gave me more sponge pudding than the other kids.” Melanie Temby added, “What a wonderful lady she was; love her so much. RIP Mrs. Bryant.”

Colleagues and acquaintances remembered her kindness and warmth. Kerry Willcocks noted, “I adored Mrs. Bryant; she made my time at Penpol so special with her kindness.”
