Koblenz, Germany – The Koblenz International Guitar Festival community is mourning the loss of Doris Schiller, a key figure who passed away on October 3, 2024, at the age of 67.
For over 25 years, Doris was the heart and soul of the festival, offering her unwavering support to students, teachers, artists, and guests alike.
Her contributions made a lasting impact on the festival’s success, and her legacy of kindness, helpfulness, and dedication will be remembered by all who had the honor of knowing her.
In a heartfelt message shared by the Koblenz International Guitar Festival team, Georg Schmitz and Russell Poyner expressed, “Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends during this very difficult time.”
Condolences have poured in from the international guitar community.
Eduardo Garrido expressed, “I’m very sorry, my sincere condolences.”
Aniello Desiderio, a fellow musician, wrote, “She was the ‘Lady’ of the festival for many years, always ready to help everyone. My deepest condolences to her daughter.”
