Dr. Terry Cunningham, Former Head of Chemistry and Camogie Coach, Remembered with Memorial Park Run in Castlewellan Forest Park

Castlewellan, Northern Ireland – Dr. Terry Cunningham, a revered former Head of Chemistry and Camogie Coach, passed away in July 2024, leaving a profound impact on the Assumption Community and beyond.

In his memory, a special Park Run/Walk event will be held on Saturday, September 28th, 2024, at 9:30 am in Castlewellan Forest Park.

The event aims to celebrate his life and legacy, inviting all teachers, pupils, parents, and members of the wider community to participate.

Dr. Cunningham’s contributions to education and sports were widely recognized, and his loss has been deeply felt by those who knew him.

In honor of his legacy, donations are being accepted for Northern Ireland Chest, Heart & Stroke, a cause close to his heart.

Therese Ruddle, one of his former students, shared her thoughts on social media: “An amazing teacher sadly missed by all his students, lovely idea to honour his memory.”

Orla Gardiner added, “What a beautiful idea and tribute.”

These sentiments reflect the widespread admiration and respect for Dr. Cunningham.
