Eleanor Myrick, Beloved Community Member and Former Bus Driver, Passes Away Peacefully at 86 in Metropolis, Illinois

Metropolis, Illinois – Eleanor Myrick, a cherished resident of Metropolis and former bus driver for the Boaz community, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 9:40 p.m.

She was 86 years old.

Eleanor’s passing has left a significant void in the lives of those who knew her, as she was known for her kind heart and dedication to her community.

She was a lifelong friend and neighbor, always willing to lend a helping hand.

The Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak has been entrusted with her arrangements, and additional obituary details will be shared soon.

Condolences poured in on social media, highlighting the impact Eleanor had on her community.

Sandy Inman shared, “So sorry for her family and friends’ loss… Eleanor was my kids’ bus driver plus a lifelong friend. Great lady.”
