Eli Long, Lifelong Motorcyclist, Dies in Hit-and-Run After Leaving Food Bank in Lynwood

Lynwood, California – Eli Long, a 42-year-old motorcyclist, tragically lost his life in a hit-and-run incident while returning home from a food bank on Friday.

Long, a passionate motorcyclist who followed in the footsteps of his father, was struck at the intersection of Atlantic and Arlington Avenues while riding his motorbike.

The vehicle responsible, believed to be a light blue or silver Toyota Camry, fled the scene after colliding with Long’s motorcycle.

The tragic accident was captured on security footage, which also showed the same vehicle later traveling on the 710 Freeway with visible damage, including a blown-out back window and rear-side panel destruction.

Eli Long was wearing protective gear, including gloves and a helmet, at the time of the incident.

His sister, Cristina Long, expressed deep grief, sharing that the family returned home to find food still on the stove, highlighting how unexpected his death was.

“He didn’t deserve to be left in the street like that,” Cristina stated, imploring for help in identifying the vehicle involved.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is currently reviewing several camera clips, but the vehicle’s license plate remains unclear.

Long is survived by his nine siblings, who are determined to seek justice for their brother.
