Elizabeth Mod Borosdy, Beloved Family Member and Dedicated Scout Leader, Passes Away in Cleveland, Ohio

Cleveland, Ohio – Elizabeth Mod Borosdy, a beloved family member and active member of the Hungarian scout community, passed away on October 1st, 2024, following a brief illness.

Her passing has left a deep void in the hearts of her family and the wider community.

Elizabeth, affectionately known as Lizzie, was married to Ben Borosdy for 44 years before his passing.

Described by her family as a "rock" who was always there to support others, she was cherished for her kindness and strength.

In addition to her family, Elizabeth had a lifelong passion for the Hungarian scout troop, being involved since 1951 and helping to organize reunions and community events well into the 2000s.

Her dedication to scouting extended beyond organizing events; she was also a key figure in the Hungarian scout folk dancing group.

Social media has seen an outpouring of grief, with many sharing their condolences.

Ilona Erossy remarked, “Erzsi was one of a kind.

She was so giving of herself to the girls in her Cserkész Csapat #34.” Another friend, John Nemeth, simply stated, “Rest In Peace.”

Elizabeth Mod Borosdy’s passing marks the end of an era for many who knew her, and her legacy of community service will be remembered fondly.
