Gary Premus, Beloved Scottsbluff Resident, Found Deceased After Endangered Missing Advisory

Scottsbluff, Nebraska – Gary Premus, an 84-year-old resident of Scottsbluff, was found deceased after an Endangered Missing Advisory was issued earlier this week.

His passing was confirmed on Thursday, September 26, 2024, after his vehicle, a beige Buick, was located.

The Nebraska State Patrol had issued the advisory due to Mr. Premus’s high dependence on oxygen.

Premus was discovered at 12:19 pm MST, with his family present at the scene.

Jones Mortuary has been called to assist with the funeral arrangements, while the cause of his death is still under investigation.

Social media posts have been flooded with condolences for the Premus family.

Monica Ream, a local mail carrier who had known Gary for 12 years, wrote, "What a nice guy! We had many conversations about horses, rodeo, and gardening. Sad to hear this."

Others expressed their sympathy, with Renee Leigh Moore commenting, “How sad. Thoughts to the family,” and Dean Schaneman posting, “Praying for family. RIP Gary.”

The community continues to rally around the Premus family, offering prayers and support during this difficult time.
