Las Vegas, Nevada – Gena Gipson, a beloved resident of Las Vegas, tragically passed away on September 9, 2024, after facing health challenges in recent months. Gena had been recovering from a severe stroke in May 2024, which left her with limited mobility. Despite her resilience and determination to recover, her sudden passing has left her family devastated.
Gena was a strong and caring mother who overcame numerous hardships in life. She worked hard to support her family, raising her two sons, Robert Gipson and Jonathan Herndon, on her own. Gena had recently been looking forward to retirement, with plans to spend more time with her sons and granddaughters.
Robert and Jonathan expressed their gratitude for the support they have received following their mother’s passing. In a Facebook post, Robert Gipson wrote, "Thank you so much for all of your condolences regarding the passing of our mother. Your thoughts and prayers mean the world to us." They are now asking for the community’s help to cover funeral expenses and celebrate Gena’s life. A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to assist with these costs.
Several friends and colleagues shared their thoughts about Gena on Facebook. Dante Thompson expressed his shock, saying, "This is why I try not to get on Facebook. Omg another gut punch. Gina was so sweet, an amazing co-worker. She is a pleasure to talk to."
The GoFundMe fundraiser has raised $650 of its $15,000 goal, with contributions from individuals including Steven Decker, who donated $50, and Frank Fajardo & Don Yeaman, who contributed $500.
