Greenville Woman Brianne Otley Tragically Loses Life in Homicide, Community in Mourning

Greenville, Ohio – Brianne Otley, a 34-year-old resident of Greenville, was identified as the victim of a tragic shooting on Thursday evening, September 26, 2024.

At approximately 8:30 p.m., emergency services responded to reports of gunfire in the 700 block of Martin Street.

Upon arrival, officers discovered Otley suffering from a gunshot wound.

Despite immediate medical attention from Greenville Township Rescue and CareFlight, she succumbed to her injuries at 9:17 p.m.

Greenville Police Chief Ryan Benge confirmed that the suspect, identified as 25-year-old Zachery Gilbert, fled the scene, prompting an extensive manhunt.

The search involved multiple law enforcement agencies, including K-9 units and drones.

Gilbert was apprehended at 10:27 p.m., and is currently facing preliminary murder charges.

The community has expressed its sorrow over the loss of Brianne Otley, with tributes pouring in on social media.
