Grover Cleveland Hutchison III, Vietnam War Veteran and Longtime Machinist, Passes Away at Age 71

Beech Grove, Tennessee – Grover Cleveland Hutchison III, affectionately known as "Buster," passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024, at the age of 71 at St. Thomas-Rutherford Hospital.

His passing has left his family, friends, and community mourning the loss of a man who lived a life of service and dedication.

Born in Carthage, Tennessee, Buster served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and later worked as a machinist for General Mills.

He was a proud member of the First Baptist Church of Manchester and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).

Buster is survived by his wife, Penny Howard Hutchison, and their children, Trevor Hutchison and Ali Hutchison.

He is also remembered by numerous relatives, including his sisters Wanda Brashears and Saundra Yates, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Kilgore Funeral Home, with Dr. Jake Dorak officiating.

Burial with military honors will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.

Condolences poured in on social media, with Becky Bean commenting, “Continued prayers for my sister Penny, our family, and everyone who loved Buster."

Jeanette Reynolds added, "So sorry for your loss, prayers for the family and friends."

Grover Cleveland Hutchison III will be remembered for his lifelong commitment to his family, country, and community.
