Halifax Teen Devon Marsman Found After 936 Days Missing, Two Arrested for His Murder

Halifax, NS – The family of Devon Marsman, a 16-year-old boy who went missing in February 2022, can finally begin to find some closure after 936 days. On September 16, 2024, Halifax Regional Police made two arrests in connection with Devon’s disappearance and murder.

Devon was tragically murdered at a young age, leaving his family devastated. His body was missing for more than two years before any progress was made in the case. His family, particularly his mother, never gave up hope and continued to search for answers, despite knowing who was responsible but lacking evidence to prove it. Their determination paid off with the recent arrests.

A GoFundMe campaign has been organized by Lisa Fenton to support Devon’s family. The fundraiser seeks to help his mother, the sole provider, attend the trial of those accused of taking her son’s life. The funds will also contribute to a celebration of life for Devon and a smaller gathering for what would have been his 19th birthday on October 6th. His birthday is the following day, October 7th.

Steven Wallace Lowe, a family friend, shared on Facebook, "Go Fund Me for the family of Devon Marsman, who was tragically murdered at the age of 16 in February 2022. Devon was missing for 936 days before an arrest was made in his missing person case."

Other supporters, like Lowe E. Phil, expressed sorrow for Devon’s father, Ritchie. “As much as Ritchie would love to find his son alive… Sad for Ritchie, but his son is home now and can be put to rest,” Phil wrote in a heartfelt message.

The community’s support continues as Devon’s family prepares for the difficult journey of the upcoming trial and honoring their beloved son’s memory.

Donations to assist the family in their time of need can be made through the GoFundMe page organized by Lisa Fenton.
