Dunbar, West Virginia – Harry H. “Mac” McBrayer Jr., a respected chemical engineer and cherished member of the Dunbar community, passed away on September 24, 2024, at the age of 90.
Mac, a former resident of Belle and Charleston, was known for his dedication to both his profession and his community, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and passion.
A graduate of Morris Harvey College in 1966 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, Mac enjoyed a 43-year career with Occidental Chemical, where he served as Lab Supervisor until his retirement.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mac had a deep love for music, tennis, and golf, which he avidly pursued throughout his life.
A memorial service will be held at Keller Funeral Home in Dunbar on Sunday, October 6, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Dream aWay Cat Rescue or HospiceCare in Charleston, West Virginia.
Mac’s passing has left a profound impact on his loved ones and the community, who will remember him for his kindness and dedication.
