Helen Gunn, Beloved Educator and Community Pillar, Passes Away at 99 in Fulda, Indiana

Fulda, Indiana – Helen “Gramma” Gunn, a cherished member of the Fulda community, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, October 4, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on May 21, 1925, in Santa Claus, Indiana, Helen was the youngest of four children of William and Katie (Hildenbrand) Collignon.

Helen was widely known for her dedication to students at Nancy Hanks Elementary School, where she touched the lives of many with her kindness and passion for education.

She is remembered as a one-of-a-kind individual who left a lasting impact on everyone she met.

Friends and loved ones took to social media to express their sorrow and admiration.

Marby Cox reflected, “What a blessing she was to so many students at Nancy Hanks. She was truly one of a kind.”

Kelly Coffin Greulich added, “Grandma Gunn was one of a kind and will so very be missed by many. Prayers to all her family and friends. God gained a beautiful angel today.”
