Jacolby Robert Taylor, Beloved Charlottesville Resident, Passes Away at Age 35

Charlottesville, Virginia – Jacolby Robert Taylor, 35, of Charlottesville, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024, at the Albemarle Health and Rehabilitation Center.

His death has left family and friends mourning the loss of a bright soul with an infectious smile that could light up any room.

Born on December 11, 1988, Jacolby was the son of Darnell Leach Taylor and Connie Mallory, both of Charlottesville.

He was a graduate of Monticello High School, class of 2007, and pursued a career in banking after completing his education.

Jacolby had a passion for fashion, food, and traveling, often enjoying time with his family, friends, and his dog, Blu.

Preceded in death by his uncles Calvin Mallory and James Taylor, and his aunt Barbara Taylor, Jacolby is survived by his parents, grandmother Severa Mallory, and several other close family members, including brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.

The family has expressed their deep gratitude for the care provided by the staff at the University of Virginia and the Hospice of Piedmont.

A viewing will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024, followed by a graveside service at Monticello Memory Gardens on Saturday, September 28, 2024.

Numerous friends and community members shared their condolences on social media, with Priscilla Crenshaw writing, "Prayers to the family and friends," and Robin Fortune expressing, "Sending my deepest condolences to his family and friends."

Jacolby will be remembered fondly and deeply missed by all who knew him.
