Jeremy Wallace and Family Lose Home to Hurricane Helene’s Devastating Flooding, Urgent Help Needed

Lenoir, NC – Jeremy Wallace and his family tragically lost their home and livelihood after Hurricane Helene caused severe flooding in Wilson Creek, turning a normally peaceful area into a violent torrent on September 28, 2024.

The Wallace family, who own and operate Brown Mountain Beach Resort, were forced to evacuate when the hurricane hit, narrowly escaping with their lives.

Unfortunately, the floodwaters destroyed their home and caused extensive damage to the resort property, which has been a community hub for camping, weddings, and retreats for nearly two decades.

The family is now in dire need of assistance to rebuild their lives and restore the resort.

A fundraiser organized by their close friend, Patrick Culbertson, is aiming to raise money for cleanup equipment, including an excavator and dumpsters, as well as funds for basic necessities like clothes and baby supplies.

Culbertson described the Wallace family as one that “pours their hearts out” into making their resort a special place for visitors, adding that “they lost their home and livelihood all at once.”

Donations have already begun pouring in, with supporters rallying to help this family recover from the devastation.
