Franklin County, Missouri – Jody A. Pierce, a 41-year-old resident of Salem, tragically lost her life in a two-vehicle accident on Oak Grove Church Road on Saturday, October 5, 2024.
The incident occurred north of Mill Hill Road at approximately 4:38 p.m.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Pierce was driving a 1999 Ford northbound when her vehicle drifted off the right side of the road before being struck by a 2009 Chevrolet Impala, driven by Donald A. Pierce, 45, of Union.
The collision caused her vehicle to veer across the centerline, overturn, and crash into a tree, eventually coming to rest on its roof in a river.
Emergency responders from the Meramec Ambulance declared Pierce deceased at the scene at 4:57 p.m.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department and the Union Police Department assisted the Missouri State Highway Patrol in their response.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash and have urged anyone with further information to come forward.
Jody A. Pierce’s family has been notified, and the community mourns her sudden and tragic loss.
