Franklin County, Missouri – Authorities have identified the victim of a tragic two-vehicle accident that occurred on October 5, 2024, as 41-year-old Jody A. Pierce from Salem.
The crash took place at approximately 4:38 p.m. on Oak Grove Church Road, north of Mill Hill Road.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Pierce was driving a 1999 Ford northbound when her vehicle swerved off the road, returning to its lane before being struck by a 2009 Chevrolet Impala driven by 45-year-old Donald A. Pierce of Union.
The impact caused Jody Pierce’s vehicle to lose control, cross the center line, and overturn after hitting a tree, eventually coming to rest upside down in a river.
Emergency responders arrived on the scene quickly, but Pierce was pronounced dead at 4:57 p.m. by Meramec Ambulance personnel.
Authorities confirmed that her family has been notified of the incident.
The crash remains under investigation as officials work to determine the exact cause.
Funeral arrangements for Jody Pierce will be announced by her family at a later date.
