Wayland, Michigan – John Arthur Oetman, a cherished member of the Wayland community, tragically passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at the age of 54.
He succumbed to injuries sustained in a devastating accident, leaving behind a legacy of faith, family, and friendship.
John was known for his deep commitment to his Christian faith and his love for his family.
He was often described as a man always ready to lend a helping hand to his neighbors, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
John was particularly proud of his family, having recently become a grandfather, a role he cherished.
Visitation for John Oetman will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Wayland Christian Reformed Church, located at 303 E. Elm St., Wayland, MI.
A memorial service will take place on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 6:30 p.m., with additional visiting hours from 5:30 to 6:15 p.m.
John will be laid to rest privately at Hooker Cemetery in Leighton Township.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in John’s honor to Wayland Christian Reformed Church or Hope Unexpected.
