John McLain, Retired Cleveland Police Captain, Passes Away Leaving Behind a Legacy of Service and Dedication

Cleveland, Tennessee – John "Tommy" McLain, a retired captain of the Cleveland Police Department, tragically passed away on September 24, 2024, after a remarkable 40-year career dedicated to law enforcement. His passing has elicited heartfelt condolences from both family and community members who recognized his contributions and character.

Captain McLain joined the Cleveland Police Department early in his career and served with distinction until his retirement in 2011. His leadership and commitment to public service left a lasting impact on many, both within the department and throughout the community.

A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday evening at Prospect United CPC Church, located at 310 New Murraytown Road NW, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Following this, a formal service will be held at 7:00 PM in his honor.

The interment service will take place the following day, September 25, 2024, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens at 11:00 AM, accompanied by military honors, reflecting Captain McLain’s dedication to his country and community.
