Kenneth D. Swartzentruber, Prominent Student and Leader, Dies Tragically at 18 in Ruscombmanor Township

Ruscombmanor Township, PA – Kenneth D. Swartzentruber, a promising young student from Fleetwood, tragically passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at the age of 18.

His death has left his family, friends, and community in deep mourning.

Kenneth was a senior at both the Berks Career & Technology Centre in Oley and Lighthouse Christian Academy in Lyons.

He was widely recognized for his dedication to academics and his leadership within his school community.

Kenneth was an active member of several local churches, including New Life Bible Fellowship in Oley and Pine Grove Community Church in Pine Grove, PA.

He also worked at Bear Creek Mountain Resort, where he was named employee of the month in January.

Beyond his studies in Cabinetry & Wood Technology at BCTC, Kenneth was deeply involved in the SkillsUSA student organization and served as a Student Ambassador.

He was also a member of the National Technical Honour Society, showcasing his commitment to both academics and service.

Known for his love of sports, Kenneth was a three-time champion in the ACE Mid-Atlantic Regional ping pong competition, as well as an avid soccer, volleyball, and basketball player.

He also had a passion for music, playing both the flute and piano.

His faith played a significant role in his life, guiding his actions and relationships with others.

Kenneth is remembered for his selflessness, mentorship, and devotion to his family and peers.

His community and schoolmates continue to express their sorrow over the loss of such a remarkable young man.
