Longtime Willenhall Resident Alan Howkins Passes Away, Funeral Fundraiser Launched

Willenhall, Coventry – Alan Howkins, a cherished resident of Willenhall, sadly passed away on Thursday, 12th September 2024. His passing has deeply affected his family, friends, and the community. Alan lived in the Willenhall area for many years and was a well-loved figure.

Alan’s son, Martin Howkins, took to Facebook to share the news and to ask for help in covering the costs of his father’s funeral. He mentioned, "As most know my dad passed away on Thursday 12th September… We appreciate these are difficult times for everyone financially but any donation, no matter the size, will be greatly appreciated." A GoFundMe page has been set up by Martin to raise funds for Alan’s funeral service and burial, with a goal of £5,000. As of now, £130 has been raised from five donations.

Messages of condolence and support have been pouring in on social media. Callum Bell commented, "My condolences to the boys. Their dad was a really nice fella, lived on the balcony for years. I even remember the staffy he had. Bless, RIP Alan." Another Facebook user, Jack Dobbins, shared, "Rest easy Alan, lovely man."

Heidi Curney-Miller also posted, "Awww how sad. I had many a laugh with Alan. Rip Alan. My condolences to your family." Jackie Finnie and Steve Warner expressed their sadness, with Steve writing, "R.I.P. Alan."

The outpouring of support from friends and the local community reflects the profound impact Alan had on those around him. The fundraiser continues, with the hope of giving Alan a dignified and heartfelt farewell.
