Saratoga Springs, NY – Makenzie T. Minkler, a 25-year-old resident of Rensselaer, tragically passed away on October 1, 2024, following a deadly two-car accident on the Northway near the Exit 14 ramp.
The accident, which occurred just before 5 p.m., resulted in Minkler’s vehicle overturning multiple times.
She was transported to Saratoga Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
The New York State Police reported that the right lane of northbound Interstate 87 and the Exit 14 off-ramp were closed for nearly four hours as authorities responded to the crash and conducted their investigation.
A secondary three-car collision occurred as drivers reacted to the initial accident, though no serious injuries were reported from that incident.
The community expressed their sorrow on social media.
Bryan Ketchum commented, "Sorry for all the families involved.
