Malike Williams, 26, Tragically Shot in Birmingham Convenience Store Altercation, Sparking Community Outcry

Birmingham, AL – Malike Williams, a 26-year-old man, was tragically shot and killed on September 24, 2024, during a confrontation at a convenience store in southwest Birmingham.

The incident occurred just before 5 p.m. at the Big Boy convenience store on Pearson Avenue Southwest, where witnesses report that an argument between Williams and another individual escalated rapidly.

According to the Birmingham Police Department, both men may have been armed during the altercation.

Witnesses were left in shock as they called the police, who found Williams on the ground with a gunshot wound.

He was quickly transported to the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

The community is reeling from this violent act, with many voicing their concerns about the increasing gun violence in the area.

Kayy Threezyy shared on Facebook, “This is heartbreaking news. Malike was a great person who didn’t deserve this.”

As authorities continue to investigate, residents are left to mourn the loss of a young life cut short.
