Marie Thomas, aged 86, of Digby, Nova Scotia, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2024, at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital, with her son, Travis Edward Jarvis, by her side. Marie, born on March 5, 1938, in Weymouth Falls, was the daughter of Buelah Jarvis and Jerry Jarvis. She is remembered fondly for her love of family, community, and her unwavering faith.
Marie worked in various roles throughout her life, but she cherished her time at the Conway Workshop and her experiences working “in the fish” industry. An active member of the Trinity Anglican Church, she enjoyed participating in senior activities, particularly Bingo, and was known for her dedication to staying connected with family and friends, often through Facebook, where she loved collecting and sharing family photos.
She is survived by her son, Travis, his wife Nicola, grandchildren Miranda and Heidi, and her sisters Margaret Cromwell, Evangeline Francis, and Sandra Jarvis. Marie was predeceased by her brother, Eugene Cromwell, and her husband, Ronald Thomas.
A funeral service will be held on September 30, 2024, at Trinity Anglican Church, Digby, at 2:00 PM. The family expressed deep gratitude to the Yarmouth Regional Hospital staff for their compassionate care in Marie’s final days.
