Sandy Springs, Georgia – Mecha Woodard, a 24-year-old resident of Sandy Springs, tragically lost her life in a hit-and-run incident on September 27, 2024.
The incident occurred around 4 a.m. when she exited her vehicle and began walking in the gore zone between State Route 316 and the Boggs Road entry ramp.
She was fatally struck by a vehicle, and despite immediate efforts, she passed away from her injuries at the scene.
Authorities from the Gwinnett County Police Department are currently investigating the tragic event and seeking help from the public to identify the vehicle and the driver responsible.
Evidence gathered at the scene points to a 2019-2020 Lexus RX350 or RX450, as parts from the vehicle were found near the crash site.
