Elmhurst, Illinois – Michael G. Ross, a highly respected AP Economics teacher at Addison Trail High School, passed away on October 7, 2024, at the age of 74.
Known for his passion for education and dedication to family, Ross leaves behind a legacy of generosity, knowledge, and commitment to both his students and loved ones.
Ross’s career in education spanned many years, beginning after his academic journey at Fenwick High School.
He earned multiple degrees, including a Bachelor’s from Northern Illinois University, an MBA from DePaul University, and a Master’s from Dominican University.
His deep love of learning resonated through his teaching, and he became a beloved figure in the Addison Trail High School community.
Family and friends remember Ross as a compassionate individual who strengthened bonds with those around him, including his close partner Kathy and his supportive network of family members.
He was also a beloved uncle to many, sharing both his wisdom and joy with Brian, Sarah, Heather, Katie, and Jim.
A memorial service will be held at Gibbons Funeral Home in Elmhurst from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. on October 7, 2024, followed by a private interment.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ross’s memory to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, a cause close to his heart.
Ross’s memory will live on through the many lives he touched, both in his family and the larger community.
