Faulconbridge, New South Wales – On September 10, 2024, a tragic discovery was made in a home in Faulconbridge, west of Sydney, where two young boys, Russell Smith, 11, and Ben Smith, 9, were found dead.
Their father, Nick Smith, discovered the bodies of his two sons, and the event has left the community in shock.
The boys’ mother, a 42-year-old woman, was also found at the scene with stab wounds.
She was taken to the hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Authorities have since charged her with two counts of murder.
A memorial service for Russell and Ben was held in Springwood, where Nick Smith paid tribute to his "beautiful boys" through a pre-recorded eulogy.
“It has been an absolute, absolute privilege to be your father … I will always hold you so dear to my heart,” he said in an emotional message.
He further expressed his undying love for his sons, adding, "Russ and Ben, I love you so much, I will never stop loving you."
The community continues to mourn this heartbreaking loss, as police investigations into the tragic incident are ongoing.
