Patrick Hayes, 61, of Hideout, Utah, Identified After Homicide Near Jordanelle Reservoir

Hideout, Utah – Patrick L. Hayes, a 61-year-old resident of Hideout, was found deceased on Thursday morning near the Ross Creek Trailhead, north of Jordanelle Reservoir.

Authorities have confirmed that Hayes was the victim of a homicide, with the cause of death determined to be a fatal shooting.

The Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a possible deceased individual on September 26 at approximately 11 a.m., and upon arrival, discovered Hayes’ body on the shoulder of the road.

Investigators believe the incident occurred late on September 25, possibly linked to an act of road rage.

The sheriff’s office continues to investigate, with officials urging individuals connected to a second vehicle, believed to be a Jeep Gladiator or Rubicon, to come forward.

“There is no current danger to the public,” the sheriff’s office noted in a statement.

Condolences poured in on social media, with Corinna Hayes, his sister, posting, “We lost my brother Patrick on Sunday.

He is now in his heavenly home in Glory.”

Friends and family expressed their sorrow, with Lori Carnes commenting, “Sending prayers for you and your family,” and Steve Willis stating, “Sorry for your loss.”

Authorities are asking anyone with information regarding the case to contact the sheriff’s office.
