Peggy Sue Leggett Copeland, Beloved Member of the Cooter Community, Passes Away at 71, Leaving Behind Cherished Memories

Cooter, Missouri – Peggy Sue Leggett Copeland, a cherished member of the Cooter community, passed away on September 27, 2024, at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

She was 71 years old.

Born on April 10, 1953, in Lepanto, Arkansas, Peggy was the daughter of the late James Leggett and Evelyn Smelly Leggett.

She was united in marriage to Hershel Copeland on August 23, 1967, in Tyler, Missouri.

Peggy was a dedicated member of the Holly Grove Baptist Church, where she cherished her church family and enjoyed participating in church activities.

Friends and family remember her for her kind spirit and her ability to make everyone feel special.

Paul Copeland shared, “So many great memories with Aunt Peggy. What a heavenly reunion with Uncle Hershel.”

In addition to her husband, Peggy was preceded in death by their son, Adam, and one granddaughter, Lauren Michelle Copeland.

She is survived by her children, Tony Copeland of Gosnell and Chris Copeland (Kimberly) of Jonesboro, along with five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services for Peggy will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at 12:00 pm at the Holly Grove Baptist Church, with visitation starting at 11:00 am.

Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of many, but her memory will continue to inspire those who knew her.
