Peter Guest, Beloved Artist and Community Member, Passes Away in Maidstone, Kent

Maidstone, Kent – The community of Maidstone is mourning the loss of Peter Guest, a cherished resident, devoted father and husband, and a valued member of the Rochester & West Kent Art Society (R&WKAS).

Peter passed away on the night of September 27, 2024, surrounded by his family.

His untimely passing has left a profound impact on those who knew him, as he was known for his unwavering support and love for his family and his dedication to the art community.

Peter was a respected artist, particularly skilled in pastels and oils, and his distinctive artwork won numerous prizes over the years.

Even in his final days, he continued to paint from his bed in the hospice, demonstrating his passion for art.

The staff at the hospice praised him for his dedication, describing him as a wonderful and inspiring individual.

Julia, his wife, shared, “He loved the Art Club and meeting up with everybody and all the exhibitions.”

The community has been sharing stories and fond memories of Peter’s kindness and generosity.

A member of the art society, Trish, expressed her sorrow, stating, “The world, and certainly the local art world, will be a poorer place without Peter.

He was a gentle, modest man, a very talented artist, and a friend to many of us.”

The family will announce an obituary arrangement at a later date.

Peter Guest’s legacy will live on through the love and values he instilled in those around him and the beautiful art he created.
