Piper Raynes Carter, Bright and Talented Young Girl, Passes Away at Age 10 in Baxley, Georgia

Baxley, Georgia – Piper Raynes Carter, a beloved 10-year-old from Baxley, tragically passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at Memorial Health Children’s Hospital in Savannah.

Piper, born on May 20, 2014, in Brunswick, was a vibrant and talented child who touched the hearts of many in her community.

She was a 5th-grade honor roll student at Appling Elementary School, known for her artistic talents and was even recognized as the "Artist of the Month."

In addition to her academic accomplishments, Piper was an active member of the swim team and Garden Club, reflecting her love for her school and extracurricular activities.

Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, with Rev. Fred Anderson officiating, and her final resting place will be in Omega Cemetery.

Family members, including her parents Joshua and Brooke Carter, as well as her siblings Coast and Reef, survive her.

Many people from the Baxley community have shared their condolences.

Taylor Crapps posted, "Praying so hard for the entire family for their loss. Piper was a sweet little girl."

Emily Knight commented, "So very sorry for this family’s loss. Piper truly touched the hearts of so many in our community."
