Randall Lee Holcombe, Devoted Family Man and Asheville Native, Passes Away at 67

Asheville, North Carolina – Randall Lee Holcombe, a beloved resident of Asheville, North Carolina, passed away suddenly on September 23, 2024, at the age of 67.

His passing has left his family, friends, and community mourning the loss of a man who touched many lives with his kindness, humor, and love for life.

Born on December 5, 1956, to the late Virginia Carson Holcombe and Kenneth Holcombe, Randy grew up in Asheville and graduated from A.C. Reynolds High School in 1975.

A multi-talented individual, Randy was involved in several pursuits, from cooking and cycling to hiking and golfing.

He was well-known for his love of music, particularly The Beatles, and his passion for basketball, especially his admiration for Caitlin Clark’s recent performances.

Randy’s family remembers him as a loving and devoted father.

His son, Marshall, shared, “He gave the best hugs and was always so welcoming to my friends.”

Randy attended his children’s sports events and was famous for making “the best spaghetti in the land,” according to his family.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 1 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of Groce Methodist Church, Asheville.

Randy will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
