St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador – The local community is mourning the unexpected passing of renowned drag queen and performer, Reign Michaels, also known by the name Jonathan Nichol.
Reign passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of joy, kindness, and community.
The cause of death has not yet been publicly disclosed.
Reign Michaels was a vibrant and beloved figure in St. John’s, known for her captivating performances and warm spirit.
She touched the lives of many with her humor, empathy, and dedication to lifting others up, both on and off the stage.
As a dedicated Beauty Advisor at Sephora, she had an unmatched ability to make others feel beautiful and confident.
Social media has been flooded with tributes and condolences.

A GoFundMe page has been organized by Jennifer Stockley to support Reign’s family during this difficult time.
