Lapeer, Michigan – Richard Griggs and his son, Marcus Griggs, tragically lost their lives on the evening of September 27, 2024, in a horrific train accident.
The accident occurred when the traffic control arms failed to come down to alert and stop traffic, leading to the Griggs’ truck being struck by an oncoming train.
Both Richard and Marcus were killed instantly in the collision.
This devastating event has left their family and friends mourning the sudden and unexpected loss.
Family members have taken to social media to express their grief.
Star Lee Griggs shared, "Ricky Griggs lit up the room wherever he went no matter the circumstances. His son Marcus was a sweet caring man."
Misty Phillips, another close family member, added, "Dad, I love you more than I could ever express. You are my forever angel."
A GoFundMe page has been set up by Austin June to support the Griggs family during this difficult time, with donations being sought to help cover upcoming costs and expenses.
