Butte, Montana – Ruth Ivorine Pieske, a cherished member of the Butte community, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2024, at the age of 94.
Ruth was born on August 27, 1930, to Stella Ivorine (Livingston) and Robert Edwin Downing just north of Green City, Missouri.
She married Amos Pieske on June 28, 1950, and together they built a life in Butte, Montana, where they shared many happy years.
Fondly remembered for her generosity, Ruth was known for bringing gifts from her garden and homemade Christmas candy to her neighbors.
Amanda Lunsford shared on social media, "Ruth was a great neighbor when we lived in town.
She always brought me something to drink when I was mowing!"
The community is mourning her loss, with Joan Todd Hollon expressing, "Our sympathy and prayers," and Ellen Stallings-Hodge offering, "Prayers for her family."
Ruth’s passing has left a void in the lives of all who knew her, but her legacy of kindness and community spirit will live on.
