San Francisco Artist Shannon Archuleta Passes Away Peacefully in Her Sleep on September 21, 2024

San Francisco, California – The community mourns the loss of Shannon Archuleta, a beloved artist and tattooist, who peacefully passed away in her sleep on September 21, 2024. Shannon was well known and adored in the San Francisco community, particularly during the 1990s, where she made a lasting impact with her infectious laughter and artistic talent.

Friends and family remember Shannon as someone who was always full of love and joy, greeting people with a warm hello, followed by her signature bear hug and infectious "witch laugh." Jorjee Douglass, a close friend, reminisced on Facebook, saying, "Shannon was such an important part of our San Francisco 1990’s community… Shannon will be deeply missed, but her love, laughter, tattoos, and bear hugs will live on forever."

Several people from the community have also shared their grief and fond memories on social media. Michelle Anne Muldrow commented, “Beautiful Shannon, always always a smiling happy supportive presence,” while Molly McDonald shared, “Shannon was an amazing soul, and her laugh was infectious… This is heartbreaking.”

Shannon’s passing has left a deep impact on those who knew her, with many expressing their sadness and shock. Annie Whiteside commented, “It’s such a shock and so sad. She truly had the best laugh!” Nadja Kuhner, a friend from Shannon’s volunteer days in the 90s, added, “Tragic in the worst way… Still can’t believe this happened.”

In honor of Shannon’s memory, a GoFundMe page has been organized by Jorjee Douglass to help cover the costs of her memorial service and other unexpected expenses. So far, $545 has been raised, with the top donation of $100 made by Nadja Kuhner. The community is encouraged to continue sharing and donating to ensure Shannon receives the farewell she deserves.

Shannon Archuleta’s legacy as a talented artist, cherished friend, and a bright spirit in the community will be remembered for years to come.
