Savannah Rose Peck Remembered as a Loving and Selfless Community Member in Galesburg, Illinois

Galesburg, Illinois – The community of Galesburg is mourning the loss of Savannah Rose Peck, a beloved member of the community who passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 13th. Savannah was known for her generous spirit and was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend to many.

Savannah’s family, including her father Bill and her sisters Ainsley and Carly, are deeply touched by the outpouring of support from the community. A fundraiser organized by Rachael Platt titled "In Memory of Savannah Rose Peck: It takes a village" has been set up to help the family cover the expenses of putting their loved one to rest.

The fundraiser has raised $220 of its $6,500 goal, with contributions coming from those who knew Savannah and those who were touched by her story. Kimber Davis donated $25, Paula Peck contributed $100, and Talbot Fisher, who shared a heartfelt memory, donated $10.

Talbot Fisher reminisced on Facebook, “I made friends with her when she was regularly coming in late in the evening buying crafting stuff, and we’d talk. She was so happy and was doing well then. She was honest and proud of herself and very nice.”

Others have also expressed their gratitude and love for Savannah. Ainsley West responded to Talbot’s post, saying, “Thank you for sharing and for the donation.”

Amber Edwards urged the community to come together, sharing, “Please please please!! If you can donate, please do so! If you can’t donate, then please share!”

Savannah’s memory lives on through the kindness she showed to others. One of her favorite phrases was, “DON’T TALK ABOUT MY FRIEND LIKE THAT!” which she often used to defend those she loved. Her legacy of selflessness and love continues to inspire those who knew her.

The community of Galesburg is rallying to support Savannah’s family during this difficult time, showing that indeed, it takes a village to raise and honor the memory of a loved one.
