Provo, Utah – Former BYU track and field athlete Scott Mecham has tragically passed away following injuries sustained in a mountain biking accident.
The accident occurred weeks ago, but despite efforts to recover, Mecham sadly succumbed to his injuries on September 27, 2024.
Mecham, a dedicated athlete and loving father, leaves behind a wife and two daughters.
His passing has deeply affected the BYU community and those who knew him.
