Salem, Missouri – Shirley Mae (Sapaugh) Dean, 87, a lifelong resident of Salem, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024.
In a tragic turn of events, her only son, Eugene Dean, passed away within hours of her, both leaving this world on the same day.
Shirley Mae was a beloved figure in her community and will be remembered fondly by those who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Dean, her daughter, Bonnie Dean, and her parents, Sylvan and Mabel Sapaugh.
She is survived by her daughter, Margie Butler of Salem, MO, along with her siblings, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends.
Shirley Mae’s funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel, with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. and services commencing at 12:00 p.m.
She will be laid to rest at Stone Hill Cemetery following the service.
Karen Lewis, a relative, expressed her grief on social media, saying, “I hope she gets way better treatment in Heaven than she did here on earth.
She was a good little person. RIP.”
Another comment from Diann Loera Anderson echoed the sentiment, “They will both be missed. May they rest in peace.”
Shirley Mae will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched throughout her long life.
