Kansas – Spencer Alex Gatewood, a 30-year-old resident of Altamont, Kansas, tragically lost his life in a single-vehicle accident over the weekend, as confirmed by authorities.
The crash occurred early Saturday morning at approximately 3:40 a.m., near the intersection of 24000 Road and Jackson Road, roughly three miles west of Parsons.
Gatewood, who was driving a 2019 Hyundai Elantra, was the sole occupant of the vehicle at the time of the incident.
Kansas Highway Patrol officials reported that no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Sadly, Gatewood was pronounced dead at the scene.
His death was one of four reported fatalities from separate accidents across the state of Kansas over the weekend.
Later that same day, a two-vehicle collision on US-75 claimed the life of a 77-year-old woman, Dianna Faye Slavens, from Topeka, while other passengers sustained serious injuries.
In the final hours of Saturday, two more fatalities occurred in separate crashes in Montgomery and Thomas Counties.
